This is one of our easiest projects, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- these mushrooms are adorable and can be customized to suit tons of decoration styles!
Supplies: Spun Cotton Mushrooms, Flat Candle Holders, Glue (Alleen's Tacky Glue - Original or Quick Dry), Paints (green suitable for painting on metal), Paint Brush, Q-Tips
Step 1: Pair up mushrooms with their candle holders. For the larger styles, gently bend prongs outward to accommodate stems.
Step 2: Using paint appropriate for use on metal, paint the prongs green to imitate grass. Apply two thin, even coats and let dry.
Step 3: Paint your mushroom caps, let dry. Use a Q-tip to apply spots, let dry.
Step 4: Apply glue to the interior center of the candle holders and along the insides of the prongs. Place mushrooms taking care to make them stand up straight. Let dry.
Tips: Mushrooms SC018 and SC002 fit in Candle Holders CL224. Mushrooms SC012 fit in Candle Holders CL514.
You can further embellish your mushrooms: paint gills underneath caps, embellish spots or caps with glitters, add a miniature ladybug.
Try metallic or pearl paints to give your mushrooms extra shimmer.
Add names (small paper banners on stems) to create memorable place cards for your holiday feasts.
You can also make a set of Clipping Mushroom Ornaments for your tree to coordinate with your tabletop mushrooms.
