Supplies: Spun Cotton Heads, Chenille Bumps, Clear-drying Glue (like Alleen's or E6000), Needle-nose Pliers, Scissors

Step 1: Arrange your supplies: To make 1 snowman, you will need 1 head, 1 hat, 1 chenille bump for arms, 2 chenille bumps folded in half for body/legs, 1 chenille bump for scarf, 1/2 chenille bump for tree, snips from 1 chenille bump for buttons.

Step 2: Using needle-nose pliers, make the hole in the spun cotton head larger.

Step 3: Bend two chenille bumps in half to create the body and legs.  Pinch the top of the bumps together with your pliers so it will better fit in the spun cotton head.  Glue head in place. Glue between the bumps with two small drops to hold the body together.  Let dry.

Step 4: Create arms by gluing 1 chenille bump to the back of the figure. Leave about 1/2" inch between the head and arms to accommodate the scarf.  Let dry.

Step 5: Create scarf by bending 1 chenille bump into a "P" shape and wrapping it around the snowman's neck.  The bump is wired so it's not necessary to secure it with glue.

Step 6: Snip two pieces of fluff from a chenille bump and create "buttons" by rolling them gently between your fingers.  Glue buttons in place.  Glue hat in place.  Let dry.

Step 7: Create a tree by cutting a chenille bump in half.  Use your pliers to pull the fibers out at the base of the tree, leaving about 1/4" wire stem to make glueing easier.

Step 8: Use pliers to create a small loop that will serve as your snowman's "hand" for holding his tree.  Apply a small drop of glue in the loop then insert the wire stem of the tree.  Let dry.

Step 9: Use pliers to bend the chenille up about 1/4" to create remaining hands and feet.

Tips: Proportionally a 1" head works best -- any smaller and the head seems too tiny.  

Try painting his nose orange with two light coats of acrylic craft paint for a classic carrot look.

We used Large Hats, but Medium Hats will also work for this project. 

Use glue sparingly when glueing body section together -- too much glue can make the chenille seem less fluffy.
