Supplies: Diorama Egg Ornaments, Petite Flowers, Greenery or Easter Grass, Petite Dresden Borders, Dresden Chicks and Bunnies + Flowers, Petite Mushrooms, Acrylic Craft Paint, Paint Brush, Scissors, Glue (like Aleene's)

Step 1: Paint the inside of your egg with two light coats of acrylic craft paint.  Let dry.  We chose light yellow to suggest a yolk.

Step 2: Decorate the back of the egg: Glue petite Dresden borders and Dresden flower or small medallion in place.  Let dry.

Step 3: Glue Dresden border along the edge of the egg opening.  Let dry.  We started and ended ours at the bottom of the egg.

Step 4: If using Dresden Bunnies: Bend him at the waist and decide on positioning inside the egg.  Glue in place and let dry. Add greenery, flowers and mushrooms.  Glue in place and let dry.  If using Dresden Chicks: Glue in greenery and flowers/mushroom. Let dry.  Glue chick in place and let dry.  You can lightly glue his beak to the edge of the egg and his tail to the back of a flower.

Tips: Work Gently! Don't forget you're handling a real egg.  Be sure not to press too hard when applying Dresden borders.

Think small scale! The eggs are chicken eggs -- miniature flowers, mushrooms and millinery work best.

Try positioning and pairing your flowers, greenery and bunnies/chicks first to get a feel for how the finished egg will look. 

Paint the inside of your egg a light color -- remember that it will be shadowed and the items placed inside will also make shadows.

For our Bunny Egg we used less greenery and fewer flowers because the bunny is set back into the egg and we didn't want to obscure him.  For our Chick Eggs we used two bundles of flowers and two greenery sprigs for a fuller look as the chick sits at the front of the egg.
