Supplies: Lace Snowflakes, Dresden Stars + Medallions, Die-Cut Scraps or Stickers, Glue, Scissors, White Paper
Step 1: Cut apart a mix of Dresden stars and medallions in varying sizes. Do the same for the scrap images. If using stickers, stick them to a plain piece of white paper before cutting them out to make your own "scrap".
Step 2: Choose a lace snowflake as your base and begin building a small stack of Dresdens in graduated sizes. Top with a scrap image or a sticker. When pleased with your combination, use clear drying craft glue to adhere all pieces together. Let dry.
Step 3: Embellish the back of the snowflake with petite stacked Dresdens or leave plain. Let dry.
Tips: You can use a brown or grey felt tip pen to tint the edges of your scrap images and stickers-on-paper to hide the white edges for a more seamless look.
Try pairing your snowflakes and Dresdens symmetrically: 6-pointed snowflakes look especially good with 6-pointed Dresdens.
Dresdens look dimensional and particularly beautiful when foil colors are mixed. Some of our favorite combinations are burgundy/silver/gold, gold/pink/burgundy, aqua/silver/gold and all-time classic silver/gold.
Very petite scrap images work best for not hiding too much of the snowflake: tiny butterflies, petite Santa heads, small angels, small pet faces, etc.
You can also use this technique to build on these Dresden stars.
